Charles Leroy Heidt (Charlie) age 80. Passed away at the Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, Indiana on Thursday 23, August 2018. He was a beloved son, brother, and Uncle. Charlie was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born and raised in the Martindale-Brightwood area and attended Indianapolis school #38. Later Charles lived in the near eastside Irvington area with his family for the past 47 years. Charlie was often seen doing odd jobs, mowing grass, and shoveling snow for many people in the community prior to several years of complicated disabilities. Charlie was always on the move working in the neighborhood, sitting on the porch visiting with his friends, or helping out others, he was truly a “likeable guy”. He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis L. Heidt and Julia M. Heidt (Welch), his oldest sister Lena J. Heidt, and many other close family members. Charles leaves behind a loving family including a neice Evangeline M. Heidt whom he lived with and was his final care giver for many years. Two sisters Cressah M. Heidt, Barbara J. Baker (Heidt), his only brother William E. (Janet) Heidt, six additional nieces and nephews; Helen, Anthony, Roezellia, Tina, Mark, and James, and many grand nieces and nephews.

Charlie the family will always remember your beautiful blue eyes and unique smile, may god continue to bless you beyond this earthy world as you transcend to heaven and rejoice with the angels.

Services will be held 7 pm, Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis. The family will greet friends from 5 pm until the time of service.
